The Éditique Edge

Proficiency and experience with InDesign, Quark XPress, Photoshop, Illustrator and Freehand make all the difference when meeting a deadline with an accurate, good-looking document for our clients. Here's how we do it:

  • Lost your accent?
When accents sometime disappear on a text file, Éditique can insert them where required without having to go through a translator.
  • Can Éditique key in text in English as fast as French?
    Absolutely.
  • Want to see some proof?
Our policy is, "Documents are error-free the first proof." Documents are proofread in English and French. It is extremely stressful for a client to see a first proof full of mistakes, the onus on them to catch everything throughout the whole process. Our clients are always assured that the end-result, their printed documents, are completely error-free.
  • Are you losing something in the translation?
If you're not fluent, making alterations in French can be extremely tedious and cannot always be 100% accurate. And keeping French-speaking contacts available the entire time probably isn't in your budget. And who needs two to four more proofs? Don't worry, we have the staff to handle those corrections-so you don't have to.
  • Need a break?
Éditique understands where line breaks are or aren't appropriate. Hyphenation in English is completely different from French.
  • Running out of space?
Éditique is experienced in working with documents that are done in English and then have to be done in French. French text runs approximately 20% longer. We're very proficient in manipulating text in subtle ways to match printed English samples without having to go through a translator to edit text.
  • What typos?
There are typographical rules and procedures in French and English that Éditique fully understands. The rules are not the same in both languages. Translators may not necessarily look for typographical errors, such as hyphenation and punctuation. When work is done accurately from the beginning, there are no time-consuming errors to correct at the end when pressure is at its highest.
  • Do we speak your language?
You bet. When working to tight deadlines, clear communication is of utmost importance. Speaking with a client contact, a writer or translator in their first language is always best.
